Business Week #56 - Facebook selling
As software creator sometimes I wonder if some issues stay for purpose
As mentioned in a couple of recent posts, I have a tough time with my side hustle business spending too much time on daily duties. However, this was a perfect opportunity for my wife to have more space for her experiments as usually she is my first software tester from both QA & user points of view.
So she spent some time building online materials for English teachers they can use in daily work and started selling them on Facebook as this is the fastest way to validate the concept. Last week was the breaking one when she sold more items than in the last 2 months 🎉
However, huge interest exposed issues with selling on Facebook & Messenger without a proper own online place. Facebook notifications simply don't work, Messenger randomly puts some users to Spam and the overall effect of this great selling growth was a mix of happiness and frustration. It also forced us to instantly start thinking about the automation of the selling process to save time.
This is why we've decided not to wait any longer and launch an online shop trying firstly with Shoper platform.
We target to launch this shop by the end of next week. I am wondering if this makes us too optimistic. Well see 🤗
⏳ Time spent: 240 minutes (100%)
Plan for week #57
Launch first version of online shop with basic functionalities including just a list of products and end-to-end buying process.
