Life Week #103 - My sacrifice
Every adult should visit Rome; but once is perfectly enough
The forthcoming year is the year when I need to make a significant shift in my career. I have a gut feeling, that the great knowledge of native mobile development of the iOS language is not enough right now. Native mobile devs can be slowly replaced with cross-platform ones. Also, we need to start considering AI as the tool that will potentially limit the need for just a dev
if not right now, but in the forthcoming years. This is why I believe I need to make this shift.
However, to make a shift you need both time and focus. So I need to find both. This is why I decided to stop learning and practicing chess (other than casual games with my wife). The mind-shift required to progress in chess is too overwhelming right now. This will be my sacrifice for this year - giving up on chess to be better at something else. I am already too old to become a great chess player, I am not yet that old to become a good chess player. I'll come back to this topic, but not here, not now, not currently.
See you soon, my beloved chessboard...
