Life Week #34 - Procrastination
The bigger a single step is, the more challenging is to make it
Procrastination is very popular explanation for lack of progress. It's sooo easy to get disturbed when the big chunk of work is looking at you waiting to see how you try to tackle it. Oh, it's a pure fun for the chunk to see you fail even to start a task.
One of the main reason, if not THE reason of procrastination is the size of the chunk. We tend not to split the task into several smaller ones but rather to try to do everything once, that's simply how we work. The thing is that trying to do too big chunk of work can end in lack of progress and constant re-scheduling.
I'm actually happy to see that slowly, at my age of nearly forty I'm finally learning how to move on when procrastination happens simply by splitting big chunks into smaller ones. This may really sound simple, but actually it ain't that simple to notice that there is a problem and that the problem has a good reason.
So, well done Marcin and good luck!
