Life Week #78 - (Un)real estate

Search for space and satisfaction never ends...

This was a crazy week mostly focused on the real estate market and decisions to be made. I've already summarized my thoughts on buying a flat for the office in the summary of Week 50. In the last weeks, the situation became very dynamic as the two flats became available for purchase, however, one of them was really expensive, while the other one was extremely expensive. We still decided to buy the bigger one, but, there is a catch - we needed a mortgage. To our surprise, due to my recent change of the work type (from permanent to B2B contract), I have no power to receive a credit even, if current earnings are more or less 5 times higher than the monthly credit rate 🤷‍♂️

Well, I consider this as a kinda sign that we should not go in this direction, at least for now. My wife starts regular work at least for the next 10 months so it should give me enough space to work comfortably at home and at the same time it should make her busy enough.

In other topics, we are close to becoming the owners of a house in the countryside. Some paperwork is still needed, but all decisions have been made and we are closer than ever. This also means it is a start of a long process of home renovation but this is something that should give us topics to focus on for several years without dull thinking about unreal alternatives.

This is also a signal for us to resign from purchasing a ground in the city we lived for a couple of years (Zawiercie) as it is difficult to focus on several real estate at the same time and still have some money.

This is also a signal for us to try to win an auction to loan a garage in the neighborhood not even to keep a car there, but first of all to put there all the stuff we gather in the basement and the flat we don't need for now, but also we should not throw away.

Last but not least, we decided to sell a flat we rent currently in the next months hoping to get good money for the value and, depending on the situation pay the mortgage for the flat we live in or use it to buy something closer to city centrer which is at least 30-40 years younger.

As you can this, this is a very active time focused on the real estate market. I'd even say it's too active, as, additionally, we're helping our aunty to load a flat in one city and a room in another city 🤯

This also impacts other habits, like practicing chess or physical training, not to mention side business projects put totally on hold in recent weeks. To be honest, I still think it is a fair trade. You can't focus on everything at once, there are some priorities and clearly real estate market is the topic for August. 🙃
