Life Week #84 - Half-marathon
Why not go through life like through running? Step by step?
I was afraid of this half-marathon. Once a year, in my neighborhood, a big running event happens. It's called the Silesia Marathon
and consists of three competitions - Ultra (50km), Marathon (42.195m), and Half-Marathon (20.097). I might skip all the official running competitions but I still try to attend at least this one. Last year I skipped the start at the last moment due to bad heart medical results. All the doubts were finally solved and my heart looks good. However, I still have serious issues with my both knees, elbow, and... cholesterol 😱
Nevertheless, I decided to try and see how I felt during the race. The weather was perfect - 18C without any wind or sun. I felt good from the very beginning and dived deep into listening to the podcast at first and the music later on. It really helped me to just go through the race without any serious hassle. To my surprise, I bet my personal record 🥳
One thing makes me wonder - days before the race I made all the mistakes I could do in the preparation phase for the race - how the hell it was my best half-marathon ever?
