My Week #129 - Not relaxed, not exhausted
Sometimes you need to admin the failure before it gets even worse
I love and hate the complexity and variety of the holiday time this year. I am pretty sure I have never spent that much time driving a car and moving from place to place although we do not have any road trips - we are simply traveling back and forth. The funny fact is that one bike trip made my ass hurt more than days of traveling in the car 🙃
This bike trip happened this week and it exceeded the distance we could reach using an unfamiliar bike together with my wife. It all ended 20km away from home on the road back when my wife's muscles gave up. We had to call a taxi to go back to the city. It was a tough evening, with anger and frustration. However, we went through it and on Friday evening we took a short bike trip on our bikes 🚴♂️
In general, the holiday trip consisted of episodes of relaxation and activities - with lots of walking on the beach and near the sea, with some swimming, sauning, sunbathing and long hours spent on discussions with friends we met during our trip.
Now, back home, we instantly focused on designing the kitchen, and we're about to complete the first step of the flat finishing - the bathroom is nearly complete!
This is a time for us to enter the flat, start painting ceilings and walls, and prepare for the rest. It is such an exciting & exhausting time! 🫠
I have a little concern here - I believe there is an imbalance between physical activities and mental work, planning, and traveling - too much time of stress-generating time versus too little time for mental relaxation. I hope to address this issue finally this week by reducing the amount of alcohol and increasing the amount of running/cycling/swimming.
