My Week 180 - Physical vs digital

Is the outcome the best way to evaluate the success?

It's renovation time. Yeah, again. I wrote about it last week. This week was all about the renovation. We pushed hard to complete the next stage this week before the short holidays, and, even when our plans were slightly too optimistic, we managed to complete everything. This is crazy. I was 100% sure it was impossible to achieve all the things we planned cause always something goes wrong - internally or externally.

This time, we also experienced some external impacts and internal tiredness when renovating, but, still, we managed to complete this stage on time.

I am proud. I am shocked. How can this be possible? Like, literally, how? How can real projects move towards successful completion while the digital ones are stuck? What's the difference? The motivation? The family support? The external pressure? Everything at once?

Does it mean that I should focus on real projects for now, as I clearly lack success in the digital ones? Or maybe, the evaluation of success is different here and there?

Let's compare a real project related to the painting of the room with the digital project related to the creation of the e-book. For the physical project, it's fairly simple - you prepare the room, but the accessories and some paint, you paint it, and then clean the room. Voila, the project is completed with success.

For the digital project, you create the idea for the e-book, you create it, plug in the selling tool, and publish it on the website. Voila, the project is completed with success. Or... not? Should it be sold in several copies to name it a success?

Is the different expectation the real difference between physical and digital projects, which makes the physical ones easier to complete with success?
