My Week 183 - Non-IT crunch
Crunch, regenerate, crunch, regenerage, crunch...
The main phase of the kitchen renovation is complete. We assembled all the cabinets and finished the wall decoration. I’m genuinely proud, considering how intense this period was. So many tasks were new to us, and plenty of unexpected issues came up that needed solving. By the end of this challenging sprint, I’m really proud of what my wife and I accomplished together.
We put together nine cabinets and a standalone oven, decorated the walls with composite panels and lamels, connected all the electrical points, and—luckily—no fingers were injured. There’s still one more sprint left, mainly focused on installing the sink, but the kitchen already feels great.
This speedrun had a big impact on other parts of my life. My knee took a serious hit, and for a while, I could barely walk. My IT side projects are on hold until I have more time, and my daily workouts were completely paused. This weekend is the first real chance I’ve had to relax and recover in months.
Both my mind and body need this downtime, and that’s perfectly okay. I’m happy to take it easy and do (almost) nothing. It’s Sunday now, so Monday is just around the corner with new challenges ahead.
