My Week #201 - 2026 predictions

Anyone can predict, even if most of us should not...

2025 summary

Before predicting 2026, let's seek how precise my predictions for 2025 were.

Personal

⛔️⛔️ I will finally (finally 😳) finish my first side project but it will not become a success. I will start planning my second side project.

⛔️ My GG Apartment will be a minor success, delivering roughly 3% of net income per year.

⛔️ I will continue working at my current work place and I will be on a good track to be promoted next year.

✅/⛔️ My wife will complete here new studies but will find it difficult to start new practice combined with her work at school.

✅ My son will complete the primary school with nice exam results and will qualify to the good secondary school.

✅/⛔️ My daughter will grow as a singer and as a person solving part of her mental issues related to relationship-building.

⛔️/⛔️ We'll have two funerals and no weddings in the closest family.

⛔️ We'll complete the renovation of the terrace in the country side.

Global (from the Polish point of view)

⛔️ The presidential elections will end with the president supported by the current one.

⛔️ The war on Ukraine will pause this year with a reasonable compromise.

⛔️ The real estate market in PL will have a crisis in the first half of the year but will wake up in the second part after new goverment programme is announced.

✅✅ AI will reach a moment when it becomes a tool used by every reasonable developer. Also, some of the non-IT jobs on the market will be put on risk.

✅ EU will face a crisis caused by the green energy evolution and will make first drastic decisions to take some steps back due to the worse position compared to US & China.

I was better with predicting the future last time.. 🙃

2026 predictions

Let's try to predict what the future brings...

Personal

1. I will finally (finally 😳) finish my first side project but it will not become a success. I will release a follow up, but will fail to deliver 3rd one - new app from scratch.

2. My AI startup prototype will silently die.

3. I will have difficulties with selling the flat but finally will receive an offer which is not great but good enough to accept.

4. We will not buy any land for our house. And new car.

5. My work in new place will be successful and I will be in a good position to get promoted in 2027 or by the end of 2026.

6. My wife will be unable to reduce number of hours spent in school but will slowly increase rates in side hustle base on experience.

7. My son will have a great time travelling to US but his approach to school won’t change.

8. My daughter will continue struggle with her issues but we will focus on her a bit more to let her learn how to learn. She will still sing.

9. As a family we will still struggle with the same issues like every year.

10. We will perform a small renovation in the country side, but without a huge financial effort.

Global (from the Polish point of view)

1. War in UA ends just before or as soon as a conflict in Taiwan starts.

2. EU will wake up and reduce some laws drastically reducing concurrency in the global market.

3. One of the reasons for that is the global crisis caused by AI bubble.

4. Prices of real estates in PL will finally drop - I expect world wide correction / collapse.

5. Crisis will start a discussion related to introducing EUR in PL.
