My Week #226 - Gameplay that works
My wife wants to play it - a great success!
This week was all about vibe-coding the 1:1 online experience for my game. For the first time ever, I was building an online game based on WebSockets and a Swift backend. Thanks to modern tools, I was able to migrate the existing solution and set up the first test server within minutes. This is absolutely amazing. And scary. But still, definitely more amazing than scary.
I played a few test games with my wife, and once she got into the rules and gameplay, she started to like it. This is the first app/game I’ve ever made as an indie developer that my wife actually finds cool. I think I still underestimate this moment, because it feels like a real milestone for me.
Sure, my wife thinks the app is nearly ready to be released, while I still believe I’m only at the beginning of a long journey toward the first release.
But somehow, that motivates me to keep moving forward. 💪
