Life Week #56 - Tempted

Building a right relation with the alcohol seems like impossible...

One of my goals for March was to survive another strike of 2 weeks in a row without alcohol. I think that even writing it in the form of surviving exposes the scale of the issue. There are many opportunities in your life to have a glass of wine or a drink - Friday evening chill-out while watching some movie, meeting with friends, visiting family you haven't seen for a while, clubbing with work buddies, celebrating personal successes, birthdays, namesdays, anniversaries, etc.

As you see, it's sometimes really about surviving temptations that happen too often. Even if usually you're good to say no, sometimes you're not strong enough and have a drink or too, have a shot or twelve 😬

My general decision to limit drinking was caused by both health issues and some frustration caused by people in the surrounding trying to manipulate me with the use of alcohol. Unfortunately, my cholesterol did not fall after 6 months with a very limited amount of alcohol and zero-beer policy so I'm switching towards an only-red-dry wine policy. This gives a kinda green light to drink from time to time. This makes me wonder what to do with my plans to stop drinking at all 🤔 Should I continue it? Or should I try to build a reasonable relationship with the alcohol allowing myself 1-2 glasses of 🍷 per week? I'm also currently limiting pork meat and animal fats. Let's see if it helps after the next cholesterol tests.
